what’s up tumblr! it’s been a while. quite the eventful month.
I haven’t been climbing since March 31 - tore the A2/3/4 pulleys in my left ring finger. no bueno, but not full tears - no surgery! just rest, rest rest. hopefully I can return to easy stuff soon.
besides that, working a lot. my time in DC is rapidly drawing to a close - I’ll be moving to California at the end of July/start of August. craziness! trying to enjoy the rest of my time here, catch up with people, and cross things off my bucket list.
I’ve been staying involved with the climbing community through Earth Treks, and that’s been really good for my mindset. I’ve also started doing sprint workouts, which has been awesome. it feels good to run again (I was a varsity sprinter in HS) and move my body in a different way.
I’ve also been trying to stay super involved with Skratch Labs, which has been fantastic. I’m representing Skratch at a big adopt-a-crag tomorrow and then again at SCS Youth Regionals in two weeks. hopefully I’ll make my way up to Central Rock’s Ring of Fire to represent them as well! I thought about competing in recreational if my doctor cleared me for easy climbing, but I think that’s a bad idea (and I feel bad about sandbagging…).
I’ve also been making new friends, revisiting new interests (pop punk music and shows!), and trying to just enjoy life as much as I can.
anyways - it’s been as good as could be expected, all things considered. I’m going to miss this place when I’m gone. but excited for the future!
hello tumblr. I haven’t been here in a while. life has been weird lately. I think I’m gonna try to get back to tumblr now.
since I won’t be taking any trips in the foreseeable future, I figured this would be a good time to look back on my trip to Southern California last year. read on and hope you enjoy!
